A specific area of expertise and ongoing research at Uroxsys, our timber technologies range from the world’s most durable clearcoat — trusted globally on superyachts, to high-performance interior finishes for flooring and panelling. By extending the life of timber surfaces, our coatings reduce maintenance, conserve resources, and support long-term sustainability in design and construction. We have a passion for bringing out the natural beauty of timber — and helping preserve it for years to come.
MCL Gloss, MCL Matt
MCL Satin
Our premier non-yellowing (aliphatic) moisture-cure polyurethane is renowned for exceptional longevity and superior aesthetics. With unmatched low-sheen technology and a proven track record, MCL is often praised by contractors for floors that still look fresh after 10 years of service. Typically used in commercial and high-end residential applications, it’s a smart environmental choice — each sand and recoat removes around 2mm of timber, so fewer recoats mean longer-lasting floors and significant long-term savings.
Currently available in Gloss and Matt, with a Satin variant coming soon.
MCR Gloss, MCR Matt. RHS Sealer
MCR Satin
Aromatic (yellowing) moisture cure polyurethanes - the traditional workhorse of timber floor coatings and still used by many who appreciate the long lifespan. Uroxsys has mastered low sheen technology, and the range offers some distinct health and safety benefits over competitor options. RHS Sealer is a key selling point in the range, offering a high-solids, very rapid curing first two coats which can be applied in one day – taking a standard 3-day application time down to 2.
WaterMarque 2K, Gloss, Satin and Matt
Easy to use with a 3:1 mix ratio and minimal mixing fuss, the WaterMarque 2K range delivers outstanding non-yellowing durability and appearance. With a significantly higher hardener concentration than typical 10:1 waterborne systems, its performance rivals that of premium non-yellowing single-component solvent-based coatings — combining environmental benefits with exceptional wear resistance and appearance.
WaterMarque X-Link, Gloss, Satin and Matt
The clearcoat the timber flooring industry has been waiting for.
This breakthrough single-component waterborne system delivers the performance of a 2K waterborne or solvent-based coating — without the hassle of mixing, waste, or pot life limitations. Built on advanced self-cross-linking polyurethane technology, it offers outstanding durability, chemical resistance, and non-yellowing clarity. Isocyanate-free and ultra-low in odour, it’s simple to apply, sands quickly and cleanly without clogging, and holds up to real-world wear.
Watermarque X-Link Oil
Solvent-Free Oil Primer. Waterborne clearcoats can’t penetrate timber as deeply as solvent-based systems, typically resulting in a lighter appearance and increased susceptibility to colour shift — especially in sun-exposed areas. While the market is moving away from solvent-based coatings, their deeper penetration and ability to enrich timber grain still offer clear performance and aesthetic advantages.
In response, Uroxsys has developed a non-flammable, solvent-free natural oil primer, applied by blade or buffing, that chemically bonds with our waterborne coatings. The result: all the warmth, richness, and durability of a solvent-borne system — without the solvent. Tints are also being formulated.
Marine Aliphatic Range
New Zealand sun is renowned for its punishing impact on coatings, and it was in this environment that Uroxsys developed the world's most durable marine timber clearcoat system. During development, we established that a dedicated primer and topcoat was required to enable the extended lifespan target – each with distinct properties. The range is based on single component Aliphatic (non-yellowing) Polyurethane, and includes primers, two gloss topcoats (optimised for brush and spray applications) and an exceptionally durable exterior low sheen topcoat that imparts a natural appearance.
Based on performance, this range quickly become the default system used in the the New Zealand marine market and has been rebranded and is available globally through the premier international yacht finish brand.
With rapid application properties, and the retention of an ‘as new’ appearance for an extended period, this is a unique example of Uroxsys innovation that we are particularly proud of.

WaterMarque Deck and Cladding
Everyone loves the appearance of freshly laid timber decking and cladding. Soon enough however it starts to disappoint - greying off, splitting and developing mould. The standard treatments are either oil or waterborne semi-transparent coatings or ‘stains’, prone to peeling and mildew development.
Uroxsys has taken our deep understanding of timber and applied a completely fresh approach to this challenge. We know that the timber weathering process is driven by solar damage coupled with constant wet and dry cycling creating a degraded surface layer and splitting - which is the beginning of the end for a piece of timber in an outdoor setting.
Rather than apply a high maintenance coating, we’ve come up a novel innovation which compromises of a treatment and a barrier – essentially modifying the timber surface to create a water repelling and light stable layer in clear, or optional natural looking colourants, all providing a long-lasting appearance. This is overcoated with a barrier which strongly resists water wetting keeping the timber dry and enabling very easy periodic maintenance.
From a Scandinavian bleached appearance to natural timber tones, our objective was to preserve the natural appearance of freshly cut piece of timber for an extended period. To achieve this, we’ve formulated using unique technology based on silicate and silicone chemistry. All waterborne, easy to apply and imparting a stunning long-term result that extends the lifespan of exterior timber, creating a genuine sustainability story.
