SilShell and SilShell Acid Prep Concentrate
Bare aluminium in a marine environment rapidly loses its new appearance, oxidising and eventually pitting. For the owner of aluminium boat, not only is their valuable asset losing its visual appeal, but also its value as the lifespan of the boat decreases while maintenance requirements increase.
Uroxsys has come up with a completely unique solution to address this problem.
Silshell is a clear, single component, non-yellowing ‘Silane shell’ that keeps bare Aluminium in an ‘as new’ condition for an extended time.
The metal surface is acid etched to remove the oxide layer and brighten the metal. Silshell is then applied in two ‘wet on wet’ applications that rapidly cure to leave a 60-micron protective shell with outstanding UV, chemical and abrasion resistance. Even Acetone doesn’t damage it, so any normal marine spills won’t touch it. This also makes it an excellent choice for clear-coating engine rooms and bilges enabling early detection of any corrosion related issues. The Silane chemically bonds to the Aluminium and can even be boiled for 8 hours without detaching. Excellent results in1000hr Salt Spray testing has backed the exceptional performance seen in our field trials.
Marine Aluminium is the first target market however other metals, and architectural applications will be the next focus.

Steel Coating Range
We have 3 systems formulated with ongoing validation indicating excellent performance. These use the performance principle of ‘good’, ‘better’ and ‘best’. ‘Good’ uses a high build waterborne epoxy barrier overcoated with our self-cross-linking, waterborne PU topcoat. ‘Better’ starts with coat of a novel 1K silane-based zinc-rich primer that chemically bonds to steel. ‘Best ‘uses the zinc-rich silane primer along with our WB Epoxy as an intermediate barrier, which is protected by a flexible 1K moisture-curing PU Topcoat - formulated for best service life. Duracoat Accelerator
One of our more unique innovations. A small catalyst pack added to 2K Polyurethane Paint systems. This doubles pot life but activates after the coating is applied - roughly halving the cure time. An increase in gloss, improved UV resistance, and ability to apply coatings in lower temperatures are other typical benefits. Significant waste reductions can be achieved along with faster application times. This product has been widely sold throughout Australasia for over 10 years through one of our major partners.
SilShell AntiGraffiti
Our Silshell single-component Silane clear coat technology is being stress tested in various new applications. One of these is as an Anti-graffiti coating. Paint can be cleaned off effortlessly, however its total resistance to permanent markers less than a day after coating application is a breakthrough. With excellent UV resistance, incredible adhesion to a wide array of substrates care of the Silane chemistry, and absence of PFAS ‘forever chemicals’ we have a compelling offering. Unique to the market will also be a low sheen option with equivalent performance to the gloss.
Watermarque X-Link Opaque
We took what was learned formulating our 1K self-cross-linking waterborne flooring system and applied it to a single part pigmented paint. The result is unlike any coating we’ve come across. With the flow and levelling of a solvent borne enamel (close to a spray finish off the brush), excellent chemical and abrasion resistance, and better UV resistance than a solvent-based enamel, we have a groundbreaking product. It can typically be sanded without blocking within 30 minutes of application enabling rapid job completion, has no unpleasant solvent smell, doesn’t bleed under masking tape and won’t yellow. We currently have Gloss, Satin and Matt variants formulated.
We are currently assessing applications in which this innovative technology will make a mark. Interior door spraying and trim paint is one focus area along with marine interiors and sanitary applications. However, any residential or commercial application where two pack solvent-borne technology, solvent borne enamel, or 2K waterborne PU are currently used are likely future markets.
Duracoat Isocyanate Free
Based on innovative Carbonate chemistry to create an alternative cross-linking mechanism to HDI polyurethane. We have achieved all the properties of the best marine grade 2K polyurethane without using Isocyanate.
